RETIREMENT ~ it’s a time in life to “Check Your Game.”
The world says : Yippee!!! You’ve worked hard. Hang up your hat, sit back and relax the rest of your life. You deserve to just chill, bask in the sun, and do whatever your heart desires.
OR : Put on a new hat … the one God has been designing just for you, and allow Him to work through you for HIs glory. From my experience this choice isn’t easy, but it means you’re in for some of the best days of your life!
In my retirement from pediatric physical therapy, I didn’t intend to become an author of Christian books for children and their families. It was a surprise! But God wasn’t surprised. He had been molding me for this all along, and now was the time for God’s Spirit to stir everything up within me. The results make me smile. I LOVE children ~ and the gospel ~ and putting the two together through my books! I’m so honored He chose me for this sweet task.
My Advice
In your retirement years, allow God to use you and your unique self for His glory.
Remember Psalm 92: 12-14 “But the godly… Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green… “
Psalm 71: 18-19 “Now that I am old and my hair is gray, don’t leave me, God. I must tell the next generation about your power and greatness. God, your goodness reaches far above the skies. You have done wonderful things. God, there is no one like you.”
